Description
The problem of suffering presents a significant obstacle to faith among many young people, because they do not understand why a loving God would allow it – and they do not know how to suffer well. In this audio lecture, Fr. Robert Spitzer explains the five steps of how to transform suffering into faith: the Resurrection perspective; spontaneous prayers; managing anxiety; optimizing the opportunities in suffering; and following the Holy Spirit. He then addresses how to help young people understand why God would allow suffering – the conditions of human freedom as well as the need for challenge, vulnerability, courage and self-sacrifice in human self-actualization.
