Friends and Heroes traces the tale of two friends - Macky and Portia - whose adventures lead them across the ancient world as they fight for justice and even survival against the might of the Roman Empire.
In False Heroes, Macky and his family take a risk and give shelter to two men they think are fugitive rebels, brothers Caleb and Aaron. When Aaron becomes very sick, Macky and Samuel, disguised as musicians, bring back ice from a lavish Roman banquet to cool his raging fever. We're left in suspense when it's discovered that the brothers are actually dangerous criminals. Through their experiences and retelling of Bible stories, kids will learn the importance of caring for strangers and having hope in other people.
