Thomas Cardinal Collins addresses fundamental elements of the life of Christian discipleship reconciliation, eucharist, and stewardship in this collection of three pastoral letters from his tenure as Archbishop of Edmonton. These letters were not intended so much to address urgent current issues of concern as to look reflectively at fundamental elements of the life of Christian discipleship. According to Cardinal Collins, "all three of these topics relate cornerstones of faith not to great moments of commitment or of spiritual exaltation, but to the daily round of the ordinary Christian life: again and again we turn to the sacrament of reconciliation, through which we are purified of our sins, and to the eucharist, through which we encounter our risen Lord, and so are prepared to serve him faithfully as stewards of His gifts."
